Want to try overlanding or just want an easy to drive camper to explore Montana? This 4×4 Jeep is a cool copper color, seats 5, and has a large 4 person rooftop tent. The camping outfit makes it a great vehicle for exploring around Bozeman, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, or even Glacier National Park. The Jeep is regularly serviced by the dealer and has new tires.
What’s included
The SmittyBilt roof top tent sleeps 4 and has a high-density 92″ x 75” foam extra long full width mattress. We include bedding with pillows or optional lightweight sleeping bags. The tent includes a heavy-duty waterproof top and rain fly, vestibule area over the ladder, sunroof, side windows with mosquito netting, sturdy ladder, and interior LED light strip. It is easy to set up and take down even with one person. We also have an annex available as an add on. In the Jeep is a slide out kitchen kit with a 45 liter Yeti Tundra cooler. The kitchen includes a Camp Chef Everest 2 Burner Stove with two one pound cans of propane. Cookware is a GSI Summit set with pots for the stove and an additional Camp Chef griddle. All the little cooking odds and ends are included like a GSI coffee percolator, insulated mugs, dinnerware, chef knives, cutting board, cooking utensils, salt and pepper grinders, assorted seasonings, and a collapsible sink with soap for washing up. We also include four camping chairs and a roll up camp table for undeveloped campground use. For mobile power we include a Jackery portable power station with solar panel that can charge cameras, phones, or small 110v devices. For light we have included a Goal Zero camp lantern. Lastly for safety we include bear spray and a fire extinguisher with all our rentals. Contact us for a comprehensive list of all included equipment.
Trip recommendation for guests
With all the National Parks and National Forests near Bozeman there are options for every kind of camping. Spend a night or two in the tent and grab a night at Chico Hot Springs to relax in the pool. Or you can do the tour of Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier with stops at quaint Montana towns along the way. We personally like the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway close to Idaho and the Seeley Swan headed toward Glacier. With the complete kitchen you can cook really nice meals in camp rather than just burgers and brats. Try kabobs or make a campfire pizza on the griddle. We like jambalaya with premade rice.
Other things to note
Please note that while this Jeep does have 4 wheel drive we limit the vehicle to paved and dirt roads. Remember that all of Montana is bear country and some campsites have rules restricting use to hard sided campers. And since we need to have the Jeep food fragrance free to not attract hungry wildlife, the stove in the pull out kitchen is removable when you cook those really aromatic recipes such as Thai or bacon.
